Our Team
The People Behind ACMH
Founders, therapists, researchers, and community advocates, united by one goal: making mental health support, knowledge, and community accessible to Albanians everywhere.
Founders
The two colleagues who started it all.
Dr. Arela Agako and Dr. Adile Nexha met during their Ph.D.s at McMaster University and co-founded ACMH to build a home for Albanian mental health, wherever home is.
Therapists
Psychologists, psychotherapists, and social workers.
Licensed therapists providing culturally sensitive, evidence-based care in Albanian and English through our affiliated practices.
Researchers
Building the evidence base for Albanian mental health.
The team behind ACMH's studies with McMaster University, building the evidence base for culturally grounded care, from narrative reviews to assessment translation.
Community Advocates & Collaborators
Championing mental health across the community.
Community members and collaborators who help reduce stigma, organize events, and bring ACMH's mission to life, locally and globally.
Languages
Services available in Albanian and English.
Many of our therapists are fluent in Albanian, ensuring that language is never a barrier to accessing care. Services are available in Albanian and English, with some team members also offering Italian.
